The objective of this glossary is to learn and differentiate the different metal materials used in construction.
Beams.
Noun.
A long, sturdy piece of squared timber or steel spanning an opening or part of a building, usually to support the roof or floor above.
Example: That beam is not placed correctly.

Light gauge.
Noun.
A cold-formed material that is used to make construction processes smoother and products stronger.
Example: I think the porch ceiling needs a light gauge.

Metal decking.
Noun.
Is a sheet of high-performance galvanized steel used in the construction of composite concrete floor slabs.
Example: The stage needs a metal decking.

Metal framing
Noun.
They are stable surfaces created from plates placed perpendicular to the supports of the immersion galvanized steel grid.
Example: One of the materials with which my house is made is a metal framing.

Metal grating.
Noun.
A wooden or metal lattice used to close or floor an opening.
Example: The best option to cover the drain is to use a metal grate.

Metal panel.
Noun.
Are formed by joining two sheets of painted or natural metal sheets and bonding them to a polyethylene center.
Example: The metal panel has become a great advantage for construction.

Steel column.
Noun.
Is a vertical structure member used in construction to provide essential support.
Example: This is a large clearing, several steel columns are needed.

Steel fastener.
Noun.
Are an important hardware device used in many engineering-related applications that mechanically joins or fix two or more objects together. They are considered to be an alternative to welding.
Example: Architect, more steel fasteners are needed.

Steel framing.
Noun.
Is a building technique with a "skeleton frame" of vertical steel columns and horizontal I-beams, constructed in a rectangular grid to support the floors, roof and walls of a building which are all attached to the frame.
Example: Today it is very cold I will turn on the heating.

Are steel bars that are provided in combination with plain cement concrete to make it reinforced concrete.
